  • Right to Erasure or Right to be Forgotten (Article 17 of the GDPR), the data subject may request the data controller to erase their personal data, but only in the following cases:
  • Consent was required for the collection of sensitive data.
  • The data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • The person exercises their right to object“for reasons related to their particular situation.” The data controller must then demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds to oppose it.
  • The data has been subject to unlawful processing.
  • The data collected concerns a minor.
  • Erasure is required by a legal obligation.
